In a powerful step towards shaping a more peaceful and understanding world, the UAE’s National Higher Committee for the Year of Tolerance, led by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, gathered for a key meeting to review one of the country’s most ambitious social movements.
Held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the meeting welcomed top officials, including Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Vice Chairman of the Committee, alongside several ministers, cultural leaders, and public figures.
🌍 A Global Example of Peaceful Coexistence
Kicking off the session, Sheikh Abdullah praised the efforts made throughout the year, calling the UAE’s tolerance-focused initiatives a “global model for peaceful coexistence.” Among the most symbolic projects highlighted was the Abrahamic Family House, a unique space currently under construction on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi.
This one-of-a-kind complex will include a mosque, church, and synagogue — bringing together the three Abrahamic faiths in a single space designed to encourage interfaith dialogue and promote unity.
“It will become a global icon for peace and mutual respect,” said Sheikh Abdullah, urging institutions across the UAE to develop long-lasting projects that will continue to impact future generations.

In a major announcement, Sheikh Abdullah launched the UAE Global Tolerance Leaders Program — a bold new step to equip future leaders with the skills needed to resolve conflicts and drive positive change in their communities and beyond.
He also called on the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development to research how art, culture, and creativity can be powerful tools in the fight against extremism and hate.
💡 Over 1,500 Initiatives Across the UAE
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture, presented an impressive report: more than 1,500 tolerance-driven initiatives have been implemented across the UAE since the start of the Year of Tolerance.
One major international project she highlighted was the restoration of key religious sites in Mosul, Iraq, including the historic Al-Nuri Mosque and its leaning minaret, as well as two Christian churches: Al-Tahira and Al-Saa’a — a beautiful message of unity and respect for all faiths.
🌐 Connecting the World Through “Tolerance Windows”
One of the most creative projects shared during the meeting was “Tolerance Windows” — high-tech containers equipped with advanced video communication tools. These mobile spaces are traveling across the UAE to host live conversations with thought leaders, public figures, and communities on topics related to tolerance, diversity, and shared human values.
Even more exciting: these containers will connect with 40 locations around the world, including refugee camps in Iraq and universities across the U.S., Europe, and Africa — bringing global voices together in real time.
🏛️ Celebrating Spaces of Coexistence
The committee also reviewed a fascinating study called “Spaces of Coexistence,” led by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with Abu Dhabi’s planning and tourism departments. This initiative looks at important cultural and religious buildings across all seven emirates — from mosques and churches to sports centers and community hubs — showing how architecture can be a reflection of deep-rooted values like inclusion, acceptance, and respect.

Youth Minister Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei shared how the Federal Youth Authority has launched special programs to make tolerance a natural part of how young people live and lead. وأضاف سموه أن بيت العائلة الإبراهيمية الذي يقام في جزيرة السعديات بالعاصمة أبوظبي ويجمع الديانات السماوية الثلاث سيكون أيقونة عالمية تتعزز فيه ممارسات تبادل الحوار والأفكار بين أتباع الديانات داعيا سموه المؤسسات المحلية إلى تنفيذ مبادرات ومشاريع مستدامة تترك أثرا على أجيال المستقبل خلال الأعوام القادمة.
ووجه سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن زايد آل نهيان بإطلاق برنامج الإمارات لقيادات التسامح العالمية الهادف لإكساب الكوادر الوطنية مهارات حل النزاعات وقيادة التغيير نحو عالم أكثر تسامحا بما يسهم في ترسيخ قيم التسامح والتعايش في المجتمع كما وجه سموه وزارة الثقافة وتنمية المعرفة بإعداد دراسة عن دور الثقافة والفنون في محاربة التطرف والأفكار المنحرفة.
واستعرضت معالي نورة بنت محمد الكعبي وزيرة الثقافة وتنمية المعرفة أبرز المبادرات التي تم تنفيذها خلال عام التسامح والتي وصل عددها إلى 1500 مبادرة من جميع المؤسسات في الدولة منذ بداية عام التسامح .. كما قدمت لمحة عن مشاريع دولة الإمارات في مدينة الموصل المتمثلة في إعادة إعمار الجامع النوري ومنارته الحدباء وإعمار كنيستي الطاهرة والساعة بهدف توفير دور عبادة للأشقاء المسيحيين في المدينة.
وعرضت معاليها مبادرة “نوافذ التسامح” التي تنفذها اللجنة الوطنية العليا لعام التسامح وتقوم على استخدام حاويات مجهزة بأفضل وسائل الاتصال المرئي تجول الدولة وتستضيف عددا من المسؤولين والضيوف لمناقشة عدد من المواضيع المتعلقة بالتسامح والتعايش والتنوع الثقافي بين مختلف الجاليات والمجتمعات متعددة الثقافات وسيتم ربط هذه الحاوية مع 40 موقعا حول العالم في مخيمات اللاجئين في العراق وعدد من الجامعات في مدن عالمية في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وأفريقيا وأوروبا وغيرها.
واستمعت اللجنة إلى شرح عن مبادرة مساحات التعايش التي تنفذها وزارة الثقافة وتنمية المعرفة بالتعاون مع دائرة التخطيط العمراني والبلديات – أبوظبي ودائرة الثقافة والسياحة – أبوظبي وجامعة زايد وشركة أبوظبي للإعلام وهي دراسة لمجموعة من الصروح المعمارية عبر الإمارات السبع بما فيها المراكز الثقافية والرياضية والمساجد والكنائس والمعابد يتم فيها عرض بنية هذه المؤسسات والاحتفال بثقافة القبول والتسامح المتجذرة في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
وقدمت معالي شما بنت سهيل بن فارس المزروعي وزيرة دولة لشؤون الشباب شرحا عن المبادرات التي نفذتها المؤسسة الاتحادية للشباب لترسيخ التسامح قيمة متأصلة في وجدان شباب الإمارات.
واطلعت اللجنة على آخر المستجدات والتحضيرات المتعلقة بالمهرجان الوطني للتسامح والإخوة الإنسانية والقمة العالمية للتسامح والمقرر إقامتهما الشهر المقبل.
